Garment Fitting - LEW

Have you been wanting to try sewing for yourself again but find that a pattern just doesn't fit? This could be just the class for you.

Prepare a "fitter" before class. Use your desired pattern and fabric you don't care about, such as muslin or an old sheet. Cut it with 1" seam allowances (for most patterns this means adding about 1/2" all the way around).

Mark the center front and center back with a straight line, and baste together with a stitch length of at least 4 mm long or even use hand basting.  If it has an opening like a zipper or buttons, do not close this area – you need to be able to get it on.  Set-in sleeves can be made but not attached.

Supplies to bring to class:

basted together “fitter”

basic sewing supplies – thread, scissors, marker, tape measure, styling design ruler, pins, notepad

new fabric that you plan on using for the actual garment
