and we will usually be able to hold the class.

Notify Becky's Fabrics & Bernina at least 7 days in advance, if you are unable to attend a class and we will gladly issue a credit (or a refund if you bring your receipt). Refunds/credits will not be issued for cancellations made after this time.

In consideration of the instructor and your fellow students, please do not bring children, pets or cell phones to class. We also request than no perfume is worn in consideration of those who are sensitive to frangrances.

Mastering Classes

Machine Mastering Part 1
Get acquainted with your new machine—cleaning, threading, basic and practical stitches and feet. You will begin to learn some basic sewing techniques used frequently such as repairs and hems.

Continue learning more about your machine as you put its special features to use.

Using your class samples from MM 1 and 2, you will make a sampler. You'll also learn about free motion quilting and threadplay, using the Bernina Stitch Regulator.

Using the functions and memory in your machine, you will develop decorative stitch patterns. Directional sewing will also be covered.

Mastering Embroidery Part 1
Introduction to the embroidery world of stabilizers, threads and designs as you begin to learn how to use this part of your machine.

Mastering Your Deco
Deco mastering classes are for our customers who have purchased a Deco Embroidery Machine. You will learn the basics of using your machine and different stabilizers, etc., to make the best use of your machine.

Mastering Your Serger
This class is free if you purchased your serger at Becky's Fabrics & Bernina. You'll learn the basics of threading and operating your new serger.

Mastering Your Bernina Software
Familiarize yourself with the features of the Bernina Embroidery Software. This class is free if you purchased Editor Lite, Editor or Designer Plus software from Becky's Fabrics & Bernina. Your ability to do all the exercises will depend on your level of software.

Embroidery Club
Designed to help you learn YOUR embroidery machine, club members will stitch out an embroidered design and complete a project each month. You will learn about the importance of proper hooping and stabilizing. ALL machine brands are welcome.

The educational fun continues, as you watch and learn from the experts at Bernina. Special prices on the featured feet and accessories will be offered to those who attend the live, internet training.

Bernina's live Software Sampler webcast will start at 11:00 am; you'll learn from the experts at Bernina. At the end of the webinar training, you may choose to stay and stitch out the project on your machine with assistance.

This is our third Embroidery Camp...this one will be just as fun, and educational as the last two! We're shaking things up a bit, by letting you know in advance that your finished project will be a bag. But not just any bag...yours will have embroidered panels and decorated handles. And you will make essential items to go in your bag. Lunch will be provided on Sat. and Sun., plus snacks and door prizes...it will be great fun. Again!

Embroidered Pillowcase

A great and easy project for kids! You'll machine-embroider on the cuff of the pillowcase, and then sew it together. The kit fee includes all supplies, including the use of our Bernina sewing machines.

Chain of Events

$30 + pattern
This super easy pattern uses all straight lines to create circles. Flying geese, bias rectangles, and half-square triangles are all pieced with ease!

  1. Register early to ensure your space in class - the class fee is required to confirm registration.

  2. Phone registrations are taken, but this does not guarantee your space until the class fee is received.

  3. If classes are not filled three days prior to class time, they will be cancelled or rescheduled.

  4. Notify Becky's Fabrics at least one week in advance if you are not able to attend a class and we will gladly issue a credit or refund.  Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made after this time.

  5. PLEASE, no children or babies in class.

  6. Stop by Becky's Fabrics for a complete supply list for each class.

  7. Check the supply list or pattern directions to see if you should pre-wash fabric. If necessary, fabric must be pre-washed before class. This shrinks the fabric for excellence in future washings.

  8. Classes start and end at the indicated times.

  9. Bring basic sewing supplies to each class. This includes but is not limited to: pins, needles, paper and pencil, scissors, measuring tape, thread, thread snips, sewing machine and accessories.

  10. Feel free to bring a snack or sack lunch if necessary.

If you are a teacher and have a class you think will be good, you can stop by the store and talk to us about it. We have class proposal forms available. Since we have a flyer that comes out three times a year, classes are scheduled in advance by at least 3 months and as far away as 6 months.
Class proposals for the fall (Sept-Dec) are due on June 20.
Class proposals for the winter (Jan-Apr) are due on October 20.
Class proposals for the summer (May-Aug) are due on February 20.
